Zusammenfassung
Die Claisen-Schmidt-Reaktion ist ein Sonderfall der Aldol-Reaktion und beinhaltet die Umsetzung aromatischer Aldehyde (kein α-H-Atom) mit aliphatischen Aldehyden und Ketonen zu α,β-ungesättigten Carbonylverbindungen. Die Kondensation verläuft normalerweise in Gegenwart starker Basen, sie ist jedoch auch säurekatalysiert (HC1-Gas) durchführbar.
