Abstract

When you want to launch your venture the fundamental question is how fast you need to build your company. The answer to this question depends on the time window of the opportunity. Is it a one-year-opportunity, is it a two-year-opportunity or is it a decade-opportunity? The size of the time window depends primarily on the rate of change in the relevant market and the intensity of competition. From this analysis of the time window of the opportunity the strategy for the launch and growth of the venture evolves.
