Part of the book series: Notes on Numerical Fluid Mechanics (NNFM) ((NONUFM,volume 72))

Summary

This work focuses on the numerical simulation of laminar, three-dimensional, symmetric corner flows in the hypersonic regime. For this purpose an algorithm based on a Finite-Volume-Method with cell vertex approach and explicit time integration is used. Different Upwind-Splitting methods have been implemented with emphasis on differences among these methods regarding the overall quality of the corresponding results. A description of the schemes is presented and the results are compared with experimental data as well as with results from other authors for two different corner flow problems.
