Summary

By using a simulation approach with individual life table data, we have been able to predict the population dynamics of Daphnia magna under different environmental conditions. The simulated population dynamics proved to agree closely with the observed dynamics of natural populations grown under the corresponding environmental conditions. This indicates the validity of both the population model and the individuals’ approach.
