Zusammenfassung

Die Erforschung und Beschreibung psychischer Traumatisierung im Kindesalter hat erst eine relativ kurze Geschichte. Frühe theoretische Beiträge dazu stammen von Anna Freud und ihren Mitarbeiterinnen, die vor allem Kleinkinder nach den Bombenangriffen des Zweiten Weltkrieges untersuchten. Die Forschungen von John Bowlby (Bowlby, 1975,1979), der ein Separationstrauma im Sinne eines Trennungsschocks von den primären Bezugspersonen beschreibt, bilden eine weitere wichtige Grundlage des Verständnisses für die Auswirkungen von traumatischen Erfahrungen in der frühen Kindheit. Basierend auf den Arbeiten von Anna Freud, John Bowlby, Rene Spitz, Margaret Mahler, Daniël Stern und Josef Lichtenberg wurden bedeutende Aspekte der kindlichen Entwicklung formuliert. Die jeweiligen Entwicklungsaufgaben werden als Anpassungsaufgaben in einer bestimmten Lebensperiode definiert (Resch, 1999).
