Zusammenfassung

Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1977 beschäftigt sich das Atelier Albert Wimmer mit sozialen und innovativen Strategien für die Gestaltung unseres Lebensraumes. Nachhaltigkeit ist die oberste Prämisse. Das rund 70 Mitarbeiter umfassende Büro verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung in der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit bei der Planung und Umsetzung von Bauvorhaben. Darüber hinaus entstanden infolge von Wettbewerbserfolgen in den letzten Jahren viele urbane Großprojekte, darunter etwa das Kraftwerk Freudenau, die Euro-Stadien in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Klagenfurt und Lemberg (Ukraine), der Bahnhof Wien Praterstern sowie die Masterpläne für Monte Laa, Eurogate und den neuen Hauptbahnhof Wien. Zu den aktuellen Projekten zählen die neue Verkehrsstation Hauptbahnhof Wien sowie das Krankenhaus Wien Nord.

Abstract

Since first established in 1977 Albert Wimmer’s studio has focussed on social and innovative strategies for the design of the spaces we live in. Sustainability is given top priority. The office, which has a staff of around 70, can draw on many years of experience of interdisciplinary collaboration in the design and implementation of building projects. Additionally, as the result of competitions won in recent years, the office has carried out a number of large urban projects, among them Freudenau hydroelectric power station, the Euro stadiums in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Lviv (Ukraine), the railway station Wien Praterstern and the master plans for Monte Laa, Eurogate, and the area around the new Vienna Main Station. Projects currently being worked on include Vienna Main Station and the Wien-Nord Hospital.
