Zusammenfassung
Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zeigen keine eindeutigen Vorteile zwischen einem reinen Paramedic-System und einem Notarztsystem. Mit einem gemischten System mit Notärzten und Rettungssanitätern, wie zumindest in urbanen Gebieten der Schweiz üblich, scheint eine optimale prähospitale Patientenversorgung möglich zu sein. In diesem Artikel werden am Beispiel der Schweiz beide Systeme gegenübergestellt und ihre Vor- und Nachteile erarbeitet. Wichtig ist nicht nur, dass die ausführenden Ärzte prähospital eingesetzt werden, sondern auch, dass sie dank regelmäßiger klinischer Arbeit die technischen Skills aufrechterhalten können.
