a) Das magnetische Skalarpotential kann, seiner Definition gemäß, lediglich zur Beschreibung stromfreier Gebiete dienen. Die hierdurch gebotene Beschränkung ist in vielen Fällen nicht tragbar, und es wird eine Darstellungsmethode gefordert, welche stationäre Magnetfelder beliebiger Art umfaßt.
