Abstract

Previous work has shown that metal complexes in the presence of Lewis acids may lead to: (i) simple addition of the Lewis acid to unshared electron pairs of coordinated ligands (3), (ii) Lewis acid addition to unshared electron pairs of a metal (2, 4) and (iii) more complex reactions (1). This report covers some of our recent experiments designed to explore (i) — simple ligand basicity.
