Abstract

The paper concerns some developments of an observed deviation from constancy for the sputtering ratio when a copper target is bombarded by a cadmium ion beam and when the density of this beam is varied. All parameters being kept constant, the sputtering ratio is higher than unity when the density is high and smaller than unity when it is small (building up of cadmium).
