Zusammenfassung

Der Nesselausschlag war schon Celsus bekannt, jedoch, wie F. Hebra angibt, noch mit dem Bläschenausschlage nach Schweißausbrüchen zusammengeworfen. Auch die Araber kannten ihn und beschrieben ihn unter dem Namen Essera (A schara [von ascher = er hat sich erhoben], s. Serapion der ältere, zit. nach Bateman). Juncker bezeichnete denselben als Purpura urticata, Sydenham als Febris erysipelatosa. Auch bei Fuchs steht die Urticaria mit dem Herpes simplex, Zoster und Pemphigus in der zweiten „Sippschaft“der Erysipelatosen, den erhabenen Hautrosen. Sauvages bezeichnete sie als Scarlatina urticata. Vogel hat dann die Unterschiede hervorgehoben, welche den Nesselausschlag von der Purpura, dem Erysipelas und der Scarlatina trennen. Alibert beschreibt ihn unter dem Namen Cnidosis als sechste Gattung seiner ekzematösen Dermatosen.
