Summary

A phenomenological approach to the derivation of the equations of mass, energy and impulse continuity for multicomponent media. A case of heterogeneous (multiphase) continuum, an example of which is a fluid-saturated porous medium. The constitutive average laws of interphase mass, impulse and energy exchange. The theory of mass transfer in fluid flow through porous media accompanied by phase transfer and the effects of the convective diffusion. Statistical methods. Some applications of the theory to a tracer injection into a fluid flow through porous media (taking into account the adsorption effects) and to calculations of the recovery of hydrocarbon mixtures from gas-condensate reservoirs.
