Zusammenfassung

Like every model the pinhole camera is only an approximation to the real behavior of a camera. Even if we assume that the third order optics describe the observed camera mapping sufficiently, the first four monochromatic aberrations of a lens system (i.e. the first four of the five Seidel aberrations: spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism and field curvature) are not be modeled by the pinhole camera with distortion (see section 2.3).
