Zusammenfassung
Die Steuerung von Beratern stellt kein leichtes Unterfangen dar. Dies begründet sich zum einen durch persönliche Charakteristika, die Beratern immer wieder zugeschrieben werden; und zum anderen durch die Natur der Beratung an sich. So werden Berater oft als höchst qualifizierte, zur Elite gehörige Individuen charakterisiert (Alvesson/Robertson 2006), die nach Unabhöngigkeit und Autonomie streben (Greenwood/Empson 2003) und sich gegenüber Kritik unaufgeschlossen zeigen (Argyris 1991). Die Beratungstötigkeit an sich wird häufig als esoterisch, intangibel und mehrdeutig charakterisiert (Alvesson 1993, 2001), weshalb sie mit zahlreichen Unsicherheiten (Fincham et al., in Vorbereitung) verbunden auch nur schwer zu evaluieren ist (Kieser 2002; Rajes et al. 2009).
