Abstract

Following Krueger et al. (2000), intentions are the best predictors of planned behaviour in psychology. Several intention models already exist in literature, however, the most cited one is Ajzen's (1991) theory of planned behaviour. This theory identifies three antecedents of intention: attitude towards the behaviour, subjective norms and perceived feasibility (Krueger et al., 2000). Having the theory of planned behaviour as a background, an effort is made in this chapter to explore motives towards self-employment, working goals and success evaluation. Those aspects reflect or at least influence subjective norms and the perceived feasibility and can be, hence, seen as antecedents of the students' career choice and in extension their intention to become entrepreneurs.
