Abstract

The electrocatalytical carboxylation of some perfluoroalkylhalides and α,ω-dihaloperfluoroalkanes on copper and stainless steel electrodes in near- and supercritical CO2 — methanol mixtures have been investigated. The main products and intermediates were determinated. It was shown that the difference in the composition of products in these two cases indicates at quite different catalytic activity of copper and stainless steel electrodes as to regards the electroreduction reaction of the intermediates and quite different adsorption of these intermediates on the surface of the electrodes.
