Abstract

Calcium channel blockers are frequently employed in the treatment of arrhythmias, hypertensive heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, asthma and cerebral vasospasm (cf. Jenkins and Scoates, 1985). Thus, patients who are being treated with calcium channel blockers and undergoing surgery, which requires anesthesia are encountered frequently.
