Summary
This study was conducted to compare the rate of myopia progression between spectacle wearers and nightwear orthokeratology patients. 70 Chinese myopic patients between the ages of 6 and 20 years old were examined in May of 1998 and separated into two Dups. 31 patients: (62 eyes) were spectacle wearers and 39 patients (78 eyes) were wearing the DreinaLens® for nightwear orthokeratology. The spectacle wearers’ myopia progressed at the rate of −0.60D/year while the orthokeratology patients showed a regression of +0.02D/year. Nightwear orthokeratology using the DreimLene® design is an effective method to reduce the progression of myopia.
