Energy-Resolved Mass Spectrometry (ERMS) of Oligosaccharide

Abstract

Mass spectrometry-based analytical method is extremely important in the elucidation of oligosaccharide structures because of its high sensitivity. Limited information regarding isomeric structure can be obtained by comparing certain fragments after CID experiments, and such comparisons can only be made when a set of isomers is available. Furthermore, quantitative analyses of MS/MS spectra have rarely been focused. In order to obtain reliable MS-based information, such analysis is inevitable. The energy-resolved mass spectrometry (ERMS) is thought to be promising in this regard.
