Abstract
The chapter describes the selection criteria and use of different organisms from the animal kingdom as model systems for conducting focused studies on regenerative medicine and espouses the immense value of these organisms and the exploration and extrapolation of these biological systems as powerful research tools in developmental biology and regenerative medicine.
