Riassunto

Come per tutte le altre applicazioni medico-nucleari nel paziente adulto, la medicina nucleare pediatrica si occupa dello studio morfo-funzionale della quasi totalità degli organi corporei e della terapia con radiofarmaci; quest’ultimo aspetto è, salvo rare eccezioni, limitato al trattamento di alcune patologie caratteristiche quasi esclusivamente dell’età pediatrica (come il neuroblastoma) oppure di malattie che, pur presentandosi con maggior frequenza nell’età adulta, possono interessare anche pazienti pediatrici (come la patologia tiroidea benigna o maligna).
