Abstract
Pacing and drug therapy may interact in cardiac patients in several ways, and one of them is when drug therapy induces bradycardia necessitating antibradycardia pacing. In this paper, several aspects of drug-induced bradycardia (DIB) will be discussed: definition, epidemiology, physiology, pathogenesis, drugs leading to bradycardia, clinical settings when DIB can require pacing, and management of DIB.
