Antitrombotica zijn geneesmiddelen die onder te verdelen zijn in:

  • antistollingsmiddelen, die gebruikt worden om de vorming of aangroei van pathologische stolsels te voorkomen; hiertoe behoren de cumarinederivaten, heparine en heparinevarianten, trombineremmers en de trombocytenaggregatieremmers;

  • fibrinolytica, die gebruikt worden om reeds bestaande, pathologische stolsels op te lossen.
