Met het verschijnen van de richtlijn pulmonale hypertensie van de gezamenlijke Europese cardiologen en longartsen in 2009 is er een belangrijke mijlpaal gezet in het denken over, de diagnostiek en de behandeling van pulmonale hypertensie. De conclusies hiervan zijn in 29 tabellen en 2 figuren krachtig samengevat en te vinden op o.a. www.escardio.org/guidelines.
