Inleiding

Een arts kan op verschillende manieren geconfronteerd worden met een vermoeden van seksueel misbruik. Ouders kunnen op basis van gedragssignalen een vermoeden hebben, een kind kan seksueel misbruik hebben onthuld of andere zorgprofessionals (of politie) vragen de arts om een deskundig oordeel. De arts kan ook zelf signalen hebben opgevangen bij een kind met aspecifieke klachten waardoor seksueel misbruik wordt vermoed.
