Kwaliteitsvisitatie van medisch specialisten: de opkomst, groei en vernieuwing van een professioneel kwaliteitstoetsingsmodel

Abstract

In 1989 visiteerde de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Heelkunde de eerste chirurgische niet-opleidingspraktijk. Anno 2005 worden jaarlijks enkele honderden kwaliteitsvisitaties uitgevoerd door alle wetenschappelijke verenigingen gezamenlijk. In zestien jaar tijd heeft visitatie zich in het kwaliteitsbeleid van medisch specialisten een stevige en prominente positie weten te verwerven (Lombarts, 2003).
