Samenvatting

Metingen zijn in de echocardiografie van groot belang. Meten alleen leidt in de echocardiografie echter niet altijd tot weten; een combinatie van meten, goed kijken en integrerend nadenken wel.

Voor de interpretatie van metingen is het noodzakelijk op de hoogte te zijn van normaalwaarden. In dit hoofdstuk worden meetmethoden en normaalwaarden uit alle voorgaande hoofdstukken besproken. Leidend zijn hierbij de richtlijnen van de ESC en eventueel de richtlijnen van de AHA.

Niet alle metingen en normaalwaarden die in het boek worden genoemd zijn hier overgenomen.
