Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk wordt, aan de hand van een casus over een patiënt met klachten aan de heup, het klinisch redeneerproces van de fysiotherapeut geschetst vanaf het moment dat de patiënt binnenkomt en de fysiotherapeut nog niet weet wat er aan de hand is.

Het hoofdstuk start met algemene informatie over de epidemiologie van heupklachten, de risicofactoren en de prognose. Vervolgens wordt besproken wat er wetenschappelijk bekend is over de validiteit van de anamnese, het lichamelijk onderzoek, provocatietesten en beeldvormende diagnostiek in het valide diagnosticeren van subgroepen van patiënten met heuppijn.
