Abstract
The majority of nursing and midwifery education is now provided through contracts. Quality is a vital factor in the award and satisfactory delivery of a contract. Drawing on personal experiences of introducing, sustaining and maintaining a TQM approach to achieving quality requirements within contracts’, the author will identify the importance of quality to ensure the award and satisfactory delivery of a contract. As part of this approach new job descriptions that focus teachers’ activity on customer (student) requirements have been introduced.
