Part of the book series: Astrophysics and Space Science Library ((ASSL,volume 140))

Abstract

New observational results on the stellar multiplicity in the solar neighbourhood are presented, with special attention to solar type stars. The multiplicity frequencies, orbital period and eccentricity distributions are briefly discussed. The distribution of outer versus inner orbital period among triple systems is investigated and suggests a simple linear relation in a logarithmic plane.
