Abstract

A numerical algorithm capable of following the self-consistent, three-dimensional hydrodynamic evolution of gas in a multi-component universe is briefly described. The method is the merged product of a particle-particle partice-mesh (P3M) N-body scheme with a particle-based hydrodynamic approach known as smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH).
