Abstract

To appreciate the changes that occur as a result of pulmonary hypertension it is, perhaps, relevant to consider the normal histology of the pulmonary circulation. For convenience of description the pulmonary vasculature can be divided into:

  • the extrapulmonary vasculature;

  • the intrapulmonary vasculature.
