Abstract
The contemporary ethical debate within the framework of the philosophy of technology, as long as it is not a matter of mere statements of will but of rational arguments, is characterized by two convictions:
-
1.
Almost all who write on the subject agree that, within the framework of discussion of new forms of technology, ethics should play a decisive role.
-
2.
Almost all agree that the new ethical climate must assume, with Max Weber (1964, pp. 174f), that it is not a matter of deontological ethics, but of a teleological ethics of responsibility (Jonas, 1979).
