Abstract

Considering the CEB-FIP Model Code of 1978 as a valid description of the European specialists viewpoints at the end of the 1970 ’s, this survey examines the problems raised by the practical application of the Model Code to PPC beams. The criticisms and new proposals advanced during the last few years also are considered. Some practical recommendations, aimed at the improvement of the code provisions, are suggested at the end of each section.
