Abstract

I am fortunate to have had the privilege of moderating this panel on middle ear surgery with such pioneering experts representing various countries of the world. Middle ear surgery in this regard refers to surgery of the middle ear cleft. The middle ear cleft is defined as the Eustachian tube, the middle ear proper, and the attached mastoid aircell system. Topics selected in this program are timely and of interest, but certainly do not represent the many other hundreds of diseases and procedures of the middle ear cleft that might also be discussed, perhaps at other symposia.
