Abstract
Metal to non-metal transitions in three oxide systems have been studied by X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS and UPS) and high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy (HREELS). The systems studied are the sodium tungsten bronzes NaxWO3; lanthanum strontium vanadate La1-x SrxVO3: and ternary ruthenates of the general type ARuO3 and A2Ru2O7.
