Abstract

At a meeting that concerns itself with the amalgamation of northern and southern hemisphere data, I think it is appropriate to emphasize the effects that artificial boundaries such as this can have on the interpretation of astronomical data. HI shells and supershells are large-scale features, so that they often cross boundaries of any kind; their study is particularly susceptible to the existence of artificial boundaries.
