Abstract
A 21 cm survey of HI in the Galactic plane, ℓ 245° – 12°, ∣b∣ <10°, carried out using the Parkes 64 m radiotelescope, is described. The distribution of atomic hydrogen as a function of Galactocentric radius is derived. A larger mass of gas is found than in most previous studies.
