Abstract

G. C. Southworth1 has reported the measurement of microwave radiation from the sun with a conventional superheterodyne receiver and a large parabolic antenna. This note is to report similar measurements made with a microwave radiometer, which was designed primarily for the measurement of the atmospheric absorption of water vapor by observing the thermal radiation emitted by the atmosphere.2
