Abstract
For the past four years we have been sending patients from the Orbital Clinic for CT examination at Atkinson Morleys Hospital. Initially the prototype 80 x 80 scanner was used. Then in January 1974 a 160 x 160 matrix was fitted and more recently the CT 1010 scanner, incorporating a 320 x 320 matrix has been employed. We have now examined nearly 250 patients with histological verification of the pathology found in the orbit in 100 of them. These patients form the case material for this paper; only lesions arising primarily within the orbit were included (see Table 1).
