Abstract
Numerical simulations are used to analyze injection of sample bands from an open channel into a packed separation column. Injection procedures commonly used for open channel systems are shown to produce poorly-formed dilute sample bands when the electroosmotic mobility within the packed separation column is considerably less than that of the adjacent open channels. Alternative procedures are suggested.
