Characterization of Mesoporous Materials by 1H NMR

Abstract

NMR is a well-established method for characterising porous materials and for investigating the behaviour of adsorbed substances [1]. The geometrical restrictions and surfaces have a large influence on both the phase behaviour and the dynamics of the confined molecules. Thus, relaxation and self-diffusion studies might give valuable information on pore geometries, and on the important process of mass transport [1].
