Abstract
Many types of distance learning are possible, as discussed in Chapter 3. These factors can be put together in many ways to produce a distance learning system. We review a few of the widely used existing possibilities in this section, and then consider some interesting possibilities found in science fiction. Later chapters will present the approach to distance learning recommended in this book.
