Abstract
Volume 1 begins with a general consideration of intelligence and intelligent behavior. Contributions are drawn from philosophy, biology, and artificial intelligence. Part II provides some general terminology, reviews previous usage of relevant concepts and points out problems associated with defining or simulating intelligent behavior and evaluating implementations of intelligent systems.
