Abstract
High resolution (∿20″) maps at 53μ and photometry at 53, 100, and 175μ are presented for the HII regions Sgr B2, W49, and DR21-W75. In general strong far infrared emission is coincident with HII condensations although several interesting exceptions are described. Simplified models are fit to the far infrared spectra to derive estimates of dust temperatures and optical depths. The models indicate that these sources have relatively large far infrared optical depths, ∿0.1 – 1 at 100μ, and temperatures of 30 – 50K. The amount of dust indicated by the far infrared emission is consistent with that expected in the massive molecular clouds seen in these sources.
