Abstract

The main purpose of evaluating the clinical picture of diabetic retinopathy on the basis of a code system is to draw attention to all symptoms separately. In a polymorphic condition such as diabetic retinophaty, attention is easily drawn to more conspicuous symptoms at the cost of less obvious ones. If one has to put numbers under each of the symptoms in the scheme given on page 22, one may feel sure that details have not been overlooked.
