Abstract

This volume on the “Seismicity of Europe” pursues farther the investigations initiated in 1954 by the European Seismological Commission. The first volume contains the earthquake catalogue for the period 1901–1955 and also some of the statistical characteristics and discussions on the seismic activity which were based directly on the unified seismological information given in [1]. During the study of the seismological data for the period 1901–1955 it was felt that additional information covering a longer period of time should be used.
