Abstract

Now we embark upon systematic presentation of the basics of statistical theory of open systems. A statistical theory always works with models of some kind. The simplest model object is a system comprised of a large number of identical structureless microscopic elements (atoms). For such a system we may give a concrete definition of Hamilton function and write (quite formally, of course) the appropriate Hamilton equations of motion. The solution of Hamilton equations at specified initial conditions gives us, in principle, complete information about the state of the system in question.
