Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 398))

Abstract

The discontinuous behaviour of reaction intermediates and active sites in ethanol reaction on Nb catalysts and in water-gas shift reaction on MgO, ZnO and Rh/CeO2 by means of EXAFS and FTIR is discussed in relation with the effect of coadsorbates as an important aspect of catalysis, where new reaction paths are opened by coadsorbates or adjacent active sites.
