Part of the book series: Eurocourses: Remote Sensing ((EURS,volume 3))

Abstract

A chronological and geographic bibliography of publications on Nimbus-7 Coastal Zone Color Scanner (CZCS) applications by investigators working in the United States is presented. The literature survey concentrates on oceanographic research and does not include a large volume of work which focuses on atmospheric correction algorithms, bio-optical algorithms and sensor performance. The survey shows that the number of papers published in the refereed literature rapidly expanded in the late 1980’s and that the data have been used to address a broad spectrum of scientific questions in a wide variety of oceanic regimes. A discussion of CZCS application case studies for the southeastern continental shelf is provided.
